On the eighth night of the dark fortnight (Ashtami) in the month of Bhadrapada, Devaki gave birth to Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Miraculously:
- The prison guards fell asleep.
- Vasudeva’s chains broke.
- The prison doors opened on their own.
this year 2025, the shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated on 16/8/25. it was a divine day. it was a very precious day in Hinduism.
Vasudeva carried baby Krishna in a basket across the flooded Yamuna River during a storm.
- The serpent deity Adishesha shielded Krishna with his hood.
- The river parted to allow safe passage.
On the other side, in Gokul, Yashoda and Nanda had just given birth to a baby girl (believed to be a form of Goddess Durga).
- Vasudeva exchanged Krishna with the girl and returned to the prison.
- When Kamsa tried to kill the girl, she transformed into Durga and warned him that his destroyer was already born.
Then the shri Krishna ‘s legacy continues in Gokul…
