ATOMIC HABITS : An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones. The book written by the author JAMES CLEAR. It is the one of the best book in the genre of self-development.  

I read it recently and it is a wonderful book for the beginners.  

Summary: 

ATOMIC HABITS book has 264 pages , and in those pages the author describes the topic with easy ,understandable examples. Everyone who read it can easily understand it. Apply it. The book contains the fundamentals and 4 law ,advance tactics as well to change our habits so that we can have a good life. 

The fundamentals : why tiny changes make a big difference – the surprising power of atomic habits ,it can be learn by the simple example: 1% better every day for one year  1.01365 = 37.78 and 1% worse every day for one year  0.99365= 00.03 . now you can see in above example that if you 1% better every day for one year then at the end of year you already better by 37.78% and similarly in worse condition. So, this is the thing that anybody can change their habits from bad to good or good to bad, choice is yours. Choose wisely , your small changes can give a best results. Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress. So we have to make a system for our progress. There are three layers of behavior change : 1st layer is changing your outcomes and it concerns changing your results ,2nd process and it concerns changing your habits and system, 3rd your identity and it concerns changing your beliefs. And Outcomes are about what you get. Processes are what you do. Identity is about what you believe. So you have the power to change your beliefs about yourself. The author also explains through the example of THE HABIT LOOP in which cue, craving, response and then reward. 

The 4 laws explain by the author to change the habits are 1) make it obvious – in this section you can see that you have to make it obvious that particular habit which you want to change has to be obvious that can really change your habits and leads to a better life. 2) make it attractive- similarly the habits which you want to change has to be attractive so that you can stick to that habit. 3) make it easy- the habits should be easy to do so that you can easily change your habits. 4) make it satisfying- again it has to be satisfying so that you enjoy what you want to change and live a better life.  

Advance tactics- Genes are inherited from parents, so when genes are powerful advantage when in favorable circumstances and a serious disadvantage in unfavorable circumstances. There are Goldilocks Rule which states that humans experience peak motivation when working on tasks that are right on the edge of their current abilities. It is the ability which make person to keep going when the work is not quite exciting because everyone can work hard when they feel motivated. And the quote by LAO TZU in the book said “the hard and stiff will bebroken. The soft and supple will prevail.” So get yourself in right system and live a better, happy life. 

My review: it was my 2nd book to read after IKIGAI in the genre of self-development. Literally, I like it ,I love it because I’m applying the techniques which were written in this book, and I can see myself, I’m changing. I’m a beginner to read books. But this book made me to read everyday whether it is small or large but you have to read everyday. Initially I was reading 5-10 pages per day but since I’m reading this book I’m daily increase my book pages to read and now currently I’m reading 20-30 pages daily. Its good for a beginner. I rate this book 5/5. Go ahead and read. You’ll love it too. For beginners it may take a little longer to read. But you’ll enjoy reading.
